SNOW brings together socially-engaged business executives, entrepreneurs and philanthropists for an unforgettable night of goodwill.
Inaugurated in 2005, the SNOW (Say No to the Oppression of Women) gala dinner is United Women Singapore’s highly anticipated fundraising event. Each year the Gala sees Singapore’s passionate and socially conscious entrepreneurs, philanthropists and members of society come together for an evening of glamour and goodwill.
We invite you to extend your support to us and to be a part of a global movement where everybody has an important role to play in achieving gender equality.
All funds raised will go towards supporting our local initiatives – especially our flagship Girls2Pioneers programme. This programme reaches out to girls aged 10-16 in Singapore, particularly those from low income and at-risk backgrounds, to inspire and encourage them to take up STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) subjects in their higher education and to pursue careers in male-dominated STEM fields, thus paving the way for a more gender equal society.
Over 26,000 girls have participated in the programme since its inception in 2014
In our recent partnership with global research group Ipsos, our survey found that 40% of Singaporeans think domestic abuse is not prevalent in Singapore, and that it rarely occurs. In fact, 3 in 10 Singaporeans say they or someone close to them have experienced domestic abuse. We have much to do to raise awareness of the issues that women face in Singapore and to take steps to mitigate them. Through our partnerships with government and other organisations, we are on a mission to shed the apathy and take action to end violence towards women
Our work for this cause has been possible due to the continued support of our sponsors, and we hope you will join hands with us this year.
