Girls2Pioneers Job Attachments

We believe that job attachments are an important part of the learning experience, giving students the chance to build their confidence and gain a deeper understanding of the working world. These job attachments opportunities provide hands-on experience and exposure to the latest technologies and practices in STEM fields.

We are offering our female students from the Girls2Pioneers programme 2-4 week job attachment/shadowing opportunities with established STEM organizations in June.

Job Attachment Openings For June

Sodexo

Sodexo provides facility management service for Johnson & Johnson Client – inclusive of hard and soft services (cleaning, concierge, reception, events coordination, mailroom, security).

Duration:
(2-4 weeks) 5th June-30th June

Location:

Department/Team attached to:
Sodexo Concierge Team

Description of the role:
Students will have opportunities to job shadow, support and understudy the different concierge team, covering:
  • Registration and welcoming of guests.
  • Meeting room bookings
  • Floor inspections
  • Engagement with users
  • Events Coordination
Perform floor inspections and identify facility related issues and report back to the team to efficiently follow up and close the matter.

Student Requirements and Openings:
Has background in facility management, hospitality management, Keen in doing front line and have service-oriented personality

Equipped with basic computer skills such as excel, words, ppt.

Daily Allowance:
$20-$30/per day (payment directly to the student from the Sodexo)

Department/Team attached to:
Unit Manager, Nutrition Service Assistant

Description of the role:
Responsible for assisting the dietician and the team in providing efficient and smooth food service flow, ensure correct meal plating and belting procedure and work as a team in achieving customer satisfaction

Students will have opportunities to job shadow:

  • Work closely with the food service dietician and assist in planning the menus and addressing the nutritional problems of the patients.
  • Ensure that all the areas of dietary responsibilities are met in a timely and sanitary manner.
  • Ensure that all the prepared items are correctly served and portioned.
  • Assist in assembling food trays and belting the food service to ensure correct food is served; do all the final check-ups according to the production/menu sheets before the food leaves the kitchen.
  • Assist in meal order checking and confirmation in case of contradictory amendments.
  • Assist in late order meal communication and verification.
  • Meet the patients/attendants on a regular basis and address their nutritional concerns.
  • Work as part of a team to maintain amicable relations with the hospital staff.
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality standards.
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines correctly.

Student Requirements and Openings:

  • A Diploma in Applied food science or any relevant field with at least 1 year of experience in the clinical background.
  • A strong knowledge and understanding of the local Dietetics requirements in the hospitals can be an added benefit.
  • Teamplayer, self starter with high level of initiative and drive.
  • Excellent communication both written and spoken.

Description about the role:
Carried out in a Wafer Fabrication plant where semiconductors are produced. The student will be attached to the Backfinish Engineering Module with the opportunity to be exposed to numerous operation clusters of tools like Lamination, Back Grinding, Delamination, Ashing, Backside Etch, Back Metallization and process control environment. The student will shadow a Process Engineer as well as to assist him/ her in improvement activities.

Students will have opportunities to
● Assist the process engineer in a developing system to track the daily production line activities to facilitate operation efficiency.

Description about the role:
Opportunity to learn the various aspects of the Semi-con industry by job shadowing experienced engineers. Involved in the manufacturing process in wafer production through the provision of engineering support to the production line

Students will have opportunities to

  •  Maintain and support day to day manufacturing activities through problem analysis and solution implementation.
  • Perform and follow-up on all quality related problems in the department through a cross-functional or task force team.
  • Respond to Lots on Hold. Disposition lots at real time, and implement actions to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Set up preventive action/solution and robust system to maintain good quality.
    ● Study the process window and robustness of the existing process, and provide the best fact-based process, product/process industrialization.
    ● Ensure use of Safety PPE and follow all Safety & hazard procedures and protocol.

 

Student Requirements and Openings:
Students pursuing Nitec/ Higher Nitec / Diploma in the relevant Engineering disciplines:

  • Chemical Engineering

Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Description about the role:
Students will have opportunities to

  • Intern with the regional Asia HRIS & Asia DEI lead ambassador.
  • Learn about the core HR systems and applications used by employees and HR.
  • Be exposed to what a HRIS role does, the scope and responsibilities and as the key driver behind HR systems and applications, and connector between human and systems.
  • Learn about systems business context in a semi-conductor industry.
  • Opportunity to learn directly about HR processes in the HR working environment.


A good opportunity to be exposed to global and regional HR systems, processes and HR businesses. At same time the additional opportunity to also take part in Diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives and STEM activities, which is on the non-technical role.

Students will have opportunities to

  • Understand the day to day tasks (real work examples)
  • Sit in for HR orientation (to know about SLB)
  • Sit in meetings/discussion as observer (if deemed suitable & relevant)
  • Participate in discussions (if deemed suitable and relevant)
  • Interact with leadership team
  • Walk around the facility/tour

Responsibilities:
Compliance to SLB safety & health, and cultural rules
