United Women Singapore is collaborating with KeyNote Women Speakers Directory to create a 3-part webinar series on the importance of STEM education in a post-pandemic world, featuring a panel of accomplished speakers.
COVID-19 has given us a unique opportunity to put Science in the spotlight and make this a teachable moment, to understand that Science does not stand alone, it is connected to the mental and physical well-being of communities, health, economic well-being, the safety and security of countries and the food that we consume every day.
The session featured Dr. Tara Huber, Dr. Lakshmi Ramachandran and Dr. Sarah Whtye, and focused on why Science is more important than ever and how to discern truth from fiction in today’s world.
Dr. Tara Huber moderated the session and shared career development & transitions, as well as essential skills for success when taking up Science in University & then as a Career.
Dr. Lakshmi shared her experience of doing scientific research early in her career, and the current need for robust research in science in a post-pandemic world.
Dr. Sarah elucidated the case for Psychology as a Science. She shared how one can prepare for a career in Psychology and what trajectories can be explored with a background in Psychology.
